Drift spec 350z

Hey guys, here's a recap of the journey my Z's gone through, from near stock daily to full competition drift spec. Either way it's still my daily. Anyway, enough of that here we go:

First bought it:

A motor later:

Some serious suspension later:

Being out of town for a very long time on business and letting insanity ensue:

Getting back and doing some shakedowns with the car and realizing running 265's in the rear was a bit too much and required too much clutch kicking and resulted in too little smoke:

Looking cool stuffs later:

Moar suspension and re-tuning stuffs later to stop wasting power and such:

Lonestar Drift 2012 Round 1:

Well that's awesome forum, just go ahead and spaz out and delete my second post so I have to go back and find all of the pics again, that works. Let's try this again...

Weight reduction / suspension overhaul stuffs:

Some bullcrap later:

At Nismo Fiesta (Rad pics, thanks to those who took them):

Painting stuffs:

Big Wing stuffs:

And that's pretty much it for now. Don't have much to do to the car now except for take a day to drop my rear subframe and replace all my bushings with my solid SPL ones as well as put my rear ARP extended wheel studs on. Just waiting for the next event, probably going to skip doing the demo/practice event at Import Face Off next weekend due to the fact that I'm going to have to buy a boatload of tires for the end of next month for Round 2 of Lonestar Drift Series as well as Lonestar Bash. I have a million more pictures of the car in every stage of it's life whether it's on my computer, cameras, cards, phone, etc. But since this car is also my daily every day I work on it I need to get it back to neutral so I can drive it the next day, and when I get home I just crash out because it's so tiring. One of these days I'll get all my stuff organized again.

Anyway, I'll keep you guys updated on the car as the weeks go on and whatnot.

I'm gonna try! Should be able to, don't think I'm going anywhere for work anytime soon and next event is at the end of the month... But I do need to get inspected next month which might be an issue haha

I actually haven't weighed the car yet! I don't know where to go to get weighed so I've never even bothered to find out. Just used the gut weight, which I can assure you it's quite light

San Antonio Raceway has a scale IIRC. Also some truck stops will have them.

Do they? Scoreburger, well I'll have to go weigh it soon then. Probably right after my re-alignment.

Damn man, that is one nice build and drift car. Also that 240sx coupe is pure sex haha and I've always wanted to get into the drift scene but just haven't found a way to get in it. But either way, great car

Thanks guys!

Haha yeah the S13 is a fun car. I think every drifter needs to own one at one point. I got my 'Merican muscle buddy addicted to 240's and so far he's still loving them. Just get a cheap shitbox 240, weld the diff and go slide around! Best way to learn, especially take it to an event or two and just get a bunch of steelies as drift spares. Drifting at 1 event you'll learn as much as months of street drifting.

Looks like I possibly have sold my S13 so I might be making it out to Dallas next weekend to shakedown the car with the giant wing of doom on it. Stoked!

One thing I've come to realize is that most if not all the people that are into drifting & just that scene are ALWAYS very helpful and ALWAYS help the newbies, thumbs up to you my friend.

Thanks Flopez! Yeah we're mostly a big happy family, mainly because we're all equally as insane as eachother and when someone else wants to join the insanity we welcome it!

Took it to Import Faceoff in Dallas to test out the wing and my new alignment. Thing felt great! Wish I had brought more tires though, my tires went super fast and by the end of the day both sets I took were so sketchy and unpredictable that I just had to stop. But otherwise it was a super fun day, the money I got from ridealongs paid for my gas up there and back so woo! And I got to give lots of gorgeous girls ridealongs... Most amount of attractive girls I've ever had in my car It's kinda sad, my buddy has gotten more girls phone numbers with my car than I have. Anyway, pics:

Oh yeah, new wheels too.

For sale!! All are except for the grids! Wheels only not tires (none of them are good anymore anyway haha)

The chick I was giving a ridealong to in this picture was awesome. And very attractive. I hope she finds me on facebook. :P Hahaha

Drove it up there Saturday, stayed the night at my buddy Fielding's house, drove the SHIT out of it (literally the hardest and longest I've drifted the car ever, my line for ridealongs had like a 15-20 minute wait at one point and I was in the car doing nonstop ridealongs for about 2 hours straight), then headed back home. then drove it to work this morning. Love Z's reliability.

Car feels great, stable, and ready for Lonestar Bash. Now it's time to just save up for the massive amount of tires I'm going to have to buy for Lonestar Bash AND Round 2...

Thanks dude! Hope it was loud and smokey! Only got to see one video so far and it wasn't too smokey But I think the video was taken on my second run with the brand new set of tires I had brought so maybe that was why it wasn't smoking too much. And do it!! I'm telling you, just getting out there is all you gotta do!
