Keep up the hard work. I remember you and this car from TRS back in the day. Stick with it.

I have recently thought about doing one of these as well. A turbo LSX FD would be pretty silly. I am just not sure if I have the time or patience for such a complicated/finiky project.

I recall there was a turbo LS7 FD build that Lethal was on within the last couple of years. It supposedly put down 1000rwhp, but I haven't seen or heard of it anywhere since then.

The owner moved to the maryland/Virginia area. It was a Procharged LSX when it was here, and now I believe a shop there is doing a custom 106mm turbo kit oin the 468 lsx.
I ran into a thread of his researching a project like this just the other day

I finally got my brake pads and rotors in. Pads are EBC reds (I was planning on using the yellows but opted for the reds last minute). Rotors are OEM blanks. Not sure why mazda painted the entire rotor.

Since everything I seem to have removed from the car has rotted while being stored away, Im pretty much restoring EVERYTHING. Refinished the brake booster. The master is getting cleaned up right now. Installed the clutch master also. Also mounted up the proportioning valve.

Uh oh. Pedals! Im still missing the most important one of course.

I cleaned up the master cylinder and bent some new brake line for the rear system. I still have to do the front lines.

By far one of the best builds I've seen. It looked like your were going the wrong direction in the beginning but you brought it back up. It looks legit man. Can't wait to see the motor swaped in.

That is a CRAZY amount of work. I looked into an LS/2J FD way back when, but decided I didn't want to spend the time needed.

Good work man.

I know I havent posted any picture updates in a while. Its not because I havent been working, its because most of what Im working on right now doesnt look like Im actually doing much. I guess Im long overdue for a status update anyways, so here's where its at right now -

The engine bay wiring harness. What a nightmare. Not only have I had to move the battery to the back of the car, Ive had to relocate one of the relay boxes (and cut it down to size). I removed some 40+ wires from the harness (including unpinning them from the connectors) as well as rewired most of the subsystems so they work correctly with the GM pcm. Mazdas system for running the fans and fuel pump is way overly complex compared to the simple GM style. All wires controlling ABS, A/C, cruise, air bags, and diagnostics are gutted. Car will still have A/C, but its controlled through the engine harness now. I still need to rewrap it and solder 2 wires but other than that its mostly finished.

My massive bucket of densely packed wires. Probably about 15lbs worth.

The firewall harness finished and rewrapped -

And the T56 is ready to go.

LS6 should be arriving wednesday.
